Are you our new Account Director?

Our Account Director is front and center with clients, the account team, and customized project teams, designing, implementing and managing creative projects. As a AD you collaborate with strategists, writers, designers, and developers along with client-side teams and our internal staff. It’s important to lead from concept through deployment – managing resources, timelines, and communications to deliver on-time, on-budget, and on-point. 

We expect you to bring strategic thinking to client relationships and lead other TEEM account team members in their work. Our Account Director drives multi-disciplinary teams on a broad range of projects, programs, and campaigns – such as planning and strategy, branding, messaging, packaging, web dev, SEO, social media, content marketing, lead gen, performance media and general creative development. As AD you’ll build a deep understanding of your clients’ business and will act in a consultative role, becoming a trusted advocate and partner.  You will also be responsible for determining process and systems for the whole account team, managing other account leads, and anchoring client relationships regardless of whether or not you are the primary point person.

The Account Director reports directly to the CEO. 

Job responsibilities include:

Client Results

  • Provides front line leadership on all agency accounts
  • Manages day-to-day interactions with clients and project teams
  • Ensures quality of creative and project outputs
  • Ensures all projects stay on budget and on schedule
  • Collaborates with the CEO to upsell accounts on future work
  • Creates and reviews proposals, SOWs, vendor agreements and other contracts

Team Assembly and Performance

  • Assembles, mentors and oversees project teams including freelance talent (contractors), account team members, and interns
  • Proactively recruits and vets talent to round-out and grow the capabilities of TEEM’s network
  • Negotiates project fees, hourly rates and retainers with freelancers
  • Provides leadership and oversight on project management processes
  • Fosters positive and productive relationships with TEEM’s talent pool, interns and coworkers

Agency Performance

  • Collaborates with the CEO to develop and implement strategic direction
  • Assists in preparing proposals, pitching and closing new business
  • Leads the use and improvement of comprehensive project systems, budgets, schedules, deadlines, deliverables and milestones for all clients
  • Manages execution of SOWs within work parameters, creative standards and budget 
  • Ensures projects hit their margin goals
  • Manages and tracks progress against project schedules as well as client expectations
  • Tracks and reports on billing, team performance, budgets and project progress weekly
  • Represents TEEM at industry and client events as well as in the creative community, as needed and available

Account Directors should have:

  • A blend of agency and brand side experience
  • Strong general branding and marketing expertise
  • An eye for design and knack for storytelling
  • A keen understanding of digital including website development and digital marketing
  • Strong self-motivation, leadership and team management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Computer Science, Business Management or Information Technology,
  • 5+ years of professional experience in account management and marketing
  • 2+ years of experience managing others
  • A friendly, open personality, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead through influence
  • A track record of managing complex projects with organization, prioritization and attention to detail
  • Experience managing budgets and processes with an affinity towards metrics
  • A personal drive towards excellence and innovation

Compensation Range = $70-90k commensurate with experience
